I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from The George Washington University. My research focuses on how the Chinese party-state finds ways to co-opt ethnic minority culture and how ethnic minorities respond. My broader research interests include Chinese politics, ethnic politics, and nationalism. Currently, I am Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Global Affairs at Eckerd College, a liberal arts college located in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Previously, I have been selected as both a National Security Education Program Boren Fellow and a Fulbright Fellow. I hold an M.Phil. in Political Science from The George Washington University, an M.I.P.A. from The La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.S. (with highest honors) in International Relations and Diplomacy from Seton Hall University.
